Thanks to Apple's OS 10.1.5 now even IE features Quartz rendering. The 7.2 MB download is available here, although the page is a bit vague on details of the improved features.
At the risk of being controversial, does anyone else think Quartz rendered text is actually harder to read and a bit too blurry? (I'll just go dig my asbestos suit out of the cupboard).

Yup, I'm with you on that one, until monitors get a whole lot higher-res fuzzy text will not be a good thing. At the very least it needs to switch on above a certain point size and stay aliased below that.
Also, until windows get's its blurry goggles on, we can't really design with slightly larger font's in mind. Widespread use of embedded fonts would make it a bit more useful too.

Todd seems to think the problem lies just with Mozilla but I have to say I think its accross the board. Chimera and IE5.2 don't look much better to my eyes.
