Sun is rising pt.3

Xbox get's a Japanese release date, 2002.02.22 - coincidentally, the date JSRF gets released Stateside. It remains to be seen how well the Japanese public will lap-up the new hardware. No doubt the current trend of pre-order package lunacy will not get off the ground this side of the pacific. Kabuki Warriors looks like it's primarily being crafted for the eastern audience, but the graphics look like they have some way to go to compete with the likes of FFX, ICO and MGS2.

  • How lame does that Kabuki Warriors look. I guess its early days as there seems to be a severe lack of any anti-aliasing. Give me Soul Calibur II any day..
Can anyone remember the mad Kabuki guy in Samurai Showdown on the 3DO, he looked like a Japanese version of Ronald McDonald?

  • Worryingly, I've seen more and more shots that don't feature anti-aliasing too. And to tell the truth, these shots look pants. I remember when Ridge Racer V was shown in all its glory and Sony-haters slated it because of the anti-aliasing. Even that looked better than Rage's Gun Metal... Jaggy City more like.

  • How good is Jet Set Radio Future looking! Its almost worth the price of admission on its own. Mind you I bet it will not be an exclusive for ever..

  • If Xbox fails it's definitely gonna come out on another platform.
Having said that, even if Xbox doesn't fail, I'm sure there'll be a Jet Set Radio something-or-other on the PS2 next year.

    Industry rumour:
Sega develop everything on the DC, then port to PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.
    You heard it here first!
Oh, and it's not just Sega. Namco too.

  • Not enthused by the prospect of X-Box's release? Then why not hold out for the upcoming uber-console, Virtua-X instead? :)
