Jonny Ram (the lucky get) has been to Spaceworld today. He's sent us these 2 postcards of suitably dressed attendee's to rub it in, MonkeyBall, Zelda/Link..

Spaceworld was a bit of a disappointment actually. With all the news of a new Mario and Zelda in the making, I was getting excited. However, compared to Tokyo Game Show this spring it was a bit drab. Everywhere was brightly lit, the only loud noises were the Smash Bros tournament and people shouting in megaphones. And there weren't actually that many great games on show!
It was good to see EA's games near to Sega's and seeing Sega whoop EA's sorry little ass. FIFA was a joke (90% complete!?) and SSX was jerky too... Sega's Virtua Striker 3, Sonic 2, Phantasy Star Online and Super Monkey Ball stole the show. Ironic really considering the old console wars between Sega and Nintendo.
Nintendo's own software looked interesting, but no sign of the two big new announcements and hideously long queues managed to suppress my excitement. Many GBA games were also on show but there were even less machines to play on in that area. No sign of the upcoming music creation cart either.
All in all, a little disappointing... roll on Autumn Tokyo Game Show (without Nintendo, unfortunately).
