There's a new Squarepusher cd on the shelves (Go Plastic). And according to the (annoyingly difficult to link to) warprecords site: "the new Aphex Twin 30 track double album 'drukqs' was mastered last week in London."
Life is sweet...

Wow!! Welcome back to the most important British music maker of the last decade..
Is that Richards 2 year sabbatical up already. Cant wait to see what his self imposed exile has produced. 30 tracks too, (rubs hands with glee)..
Have you gone back and listened to his other double album Ambient Works 2 recently? I found it realy hard going when it first came out and thought it was a step in the wrong direction from Ambient Works 1. But listening to it with hindsight is a revelation..
I wonder if he's got his computer to do it all for him yet? That was supposedly his goal wasn't it? Having heard Autechre's ventures into generative music on their last release I sincerely hope not.
(Update: Actually, I've listened to Confield some more since then and it's fine.. dunno what I was thinking)
Is the Squarepusher album any good? I was in a second hand record shop on Sunday and they already had it on CD and vinyl :(
Full review expected post haste :)
I swear he's taking the piss in places. The first track "My Red Hot Car" is like a Windowlicker parody, it's similar in sound, structure, and even the main lyric is "I'm going to fuck you in my red hot car" (or at least that's what it sounds like). Surely that's a little joke between him and richard?

I have to say that *would* probably fall under the heading of "stating the obvious", yes :P
