Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Rez

VideoSenki have the translation of a dengekionline interview with Tetsuya Mizuguchi about his new game Rez. This game looks truely incredible, mixing shooter and music maker into a new hybrid gameform.

  • Wow! Looks very nice indeed, all thumbnails though :( Where's the closeups?!
Praise be to developers willing to stray from the standard look and feel. Did people see that 3d pencil sketched game that was out a while back? I can't remember what it was called, Pencil-Whipped or something? Didn't look particularly good, but a nice idea all the same.

  • Found the links, check out the supremely amateurish screenshots here.
Then delve into its origins with a sample of it's early precursor, Big Ass Castle. A 110-page, pictorial choose-your-own-adventure book "drawn" by Pencil Whipped creator Lonnie Flickinger in 1986.

  • If you think that's bad you should see their second game "The Tickle People".
