The obsessive pearl jam fan mentions in his piece that they've just released a whole slew of live recordings from their tours, hours worth of material..
I wondered what sort of box set it would be until I saw them in the shop today. There's loads of the buggers! Individual cds in simple colour-coded cardboard sleeves.
One for each tour location by the looks of it. I forgot to check what the price of them was unfortunately.. but if they're cheap I think it's a really cool novelty idea for hardcore fans. Though one pearl jam live cd is more than enough by my reckoning :/
They're really not that cheap over here anyway. Maybe 70% of the price of a normal CD.
I think it's such a scam. Sure you'll get people buying them who just went to that gig, but you'll get some fans buying all of them for seemingly no reason. Most of the setlists are pretty similar and I'm sure they didn't differ the content of the songs that much. Bloody Pearl Jam. I mean, they have a couple of decent songs, but come on.....

Coincidentally, it was 4 years ago today that Jeff Buckley disappeared from this world.
I'm sure there's many a fan mourning the loss today.
