I thought this was a really good article, it made some very interesting points which actually made me stop and think about my previously held views on the subject. I'd like to thank the author and encourage him to continue working on intelligent and insightful posts such as this.

I'm not convinced, he seemed to know what he was talking about at first but then his arguments lost weight towards the end. I suspect he's just read a few books on the subject and thinks he knows enough without really having a true understanding of the issues.

I love your form styles too... can I have a copy of the css?
I've never tried to stylesheet forms because Netscape is poo and that's all I use at work :(

Yup no problem, I've been working on it today and it's almost ready to stick into this version. But I've just discovered that I don't have permission to use the MySQL ALTER command in our db (I need it to add username and password columns to the users table). I've just mailed jon about it so hopefully we'll have it sorted soon enough..
At the same time I'm working on users only being able to edit their own posts. Apart from admin users who can edit and remove anyones posts.
"Removing" a post will just censor it however, otherwise it could bugger the tree structure of posts and replies (ie. if a parent is removed, leaving orphaned children behind).

in between the user line and the main contetnt of each post.. Either that or try bringing the font size up a few px.. I dunno it should look ace but I find myself squinting to read anything.. Maybe we need to go bigger font wise across the whole site?

Jon's sorted the ALTER thing for us so we should be good to go with adding the user logins and new member forms. Then I have to work on posting the main articles, maybe a score system for the comments, user info pages, translating times and dates into "time since posted"..
A whole cornucopia of stuff!
Keep the creative juices going for new ideas though.
And mark them in the readme if you think you'll forget them. (I know *I'm* having trouble remembering all this stuff)
